Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

I recently signed up to be a volunteer photographer for a wonderful organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I received my 1st call just 2 days before Christmas. Mom was 36 weeks and hadn't felt the baby move for several days. When mom went to the hospital they determined that the baby's heartbeat had stopped. Mom had to deliver the baby, she was in labor for 2 days. Once baby Christine was born they called me to come and take pictures.

It is the most rewarding and the most emotional thing that I've ever been apart of. It's about giving the parents of babies who are not expected to make it through NICU and for the parents of babies who did not make it through delivery something they would not be able to have of their beautiful child otherwise...portraits. It is very, very emotional and something that I have not until now made known that I am apart of, simply because it has nothing to do with my business...it is all about the emotional experience for the parents, friends and family of the child photographed. I bring it up now only to say that NILMDTS is completely non-profit and is run by donation only. It has brought joy into the lives of those who felt like they've already lost everything. I'm finally finished with all of my holiday sessions and orders ! I will be spending the next couple of weeks cleaning up my mess with my website and blog. I have hired someone to design me a new logo (which I'm VERY EXCITED about) and have a new blog in the works. So again, please excuse mess of many different looks, a NEW LOOK IS COMING SOON !

Sneak Peak | Luke & Langdon

Tuesday afternoon I had the pleasure of spending time with these two precious children. Although it was a little cool, Luke and Langdon were very well behaved and full of joy. You couldn't look at these children and your heart not smile ! Here is look at just a few of the great shots we captured.

This was absolutely one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been apart of! It was SIMPLE AND ELEGANT !! Danny & Rachel - you were both great. Chris & Jessie - It was my pleasure to meet the two of you this past weekend! Jessie, you were absolutely beautiful and I know that Chris must be very excited to have you as his wife. As you tell in the pictures he had a smile on his face from the time we arrived! Our Great Weekend

This past weekend my husband surprised me for a weekend in the mountains. We visited the Biltmore House in Ashville, NC and it was Fabulous !! Of course I took my camera not knowing where we going and what I might be able to photography. This was the view from our hotel room on Saturday morning. The entire weekend was great and I would recommend the Biltmore property for a great romantic get away weekend!

Lenora it was great to see you again. Camden was so funny and I think she really enjoyed taking the pictures. This is just one of my favorites, I really not sure how you will decide, there are lots of good ones.

The beach was awesome yesterday morning! I had the opportunity to take my 1st senior session along with my other niece which is a rising sophomore. The session was a last minute thing and I think sometimes that may be the best ones. Thanks Stevee & Carson for a great morning.

As always my niece, Abby Stephens will pose for the camera. We had lots of fun with my new chair. I am very excited about starting my new vision with chairs!

I don't typically take pictures of animals but leaving work yesterday this is what was in the driveway. It was amazing how close he let me get to him.

INTRODUCTION

After taking pictures of family and friends for many years I have realized that I have a true passion for photography. Now that my son Christopher (age 14) will be attending the high school this year I have decided it is time to take my photography to the next level. For my photography is about sharing LIFE, LOVE and FAMILY through photography....all which are a true celebration.
